The Artist In addition to being an award-winning singer/songwriter, author, and honest-to-goodness cowboy, Royal Wade Kimes is an accomplished artist. Interested in his latest artwork? Available in the General Store, Royal Wade's art can be had in either limited edition prints or, in some cases, original one-of-a-kind artwork. |
Cowboy's Thoughts This is a self-portrait of Nashville recording artist Royal Wade Kimes. He was sitting upon a horse high on a mountain. His thoughts were of the beauty God had surrounded this rascal of a cowboy with. Kimes once said, "..the only thing more beautiful that the grandest view is of a beautiful lady". In his song "One Heck Of A Gift", he says, "They's no way, I'd a missed the tender touch of a lady." |
Friends for Life Etching this beautiful dog was the most fun I can remember having when etching an animal. She is and still is a mysterious dog. I've been around a lot of little doggies all my life, but she in one not to forget. She positively has a secret that she's not sharing with wnyone. Look in her face, you can see she is holding it back; she knows something we don't. |
Spirit Of The Drover When I etched this picture, I was filled with emotion, as I was doing a work of both a partner, and the spirit. Butch Johnmeyer, alias Jesse James, is the cowboy in the picture with me. He and I have several things in common, one of them being the Kindred Spirit. Jesse James is the same one that the song, Modern Day Drover, is about. If you notice in the black clouds behind us, there is an Indian in the cloud; he is a spirit. Monument Valley is the landscape behind us. I used that because I have been there. While there, I came to the conclusion that more went on there than scientists would have you believe. It is truly a western setting, and Butch "Jesse James" Johnmeyer is all cowboy; I like to think I have that same core. I named it Spirit Of The Drover, but I had a second name in mind too. "Headin' Out." To me, we look like we're headin' out. |
